I am definitely a chronic over thinker. Every second of every day I'm thinking about something. What I'm doing, where I'm going, what's ahead of me, where I want to be, what I have to do, what I want to do. The wheels in my brain are always turning. It tends to slow me down. I think too much about where I want to be in the future, instead of focusing on how to get there. There seems to be such a gap between where I am and where I want to be.
Something I try to remember is that everything I want isn't going to happen in one day. You have to keep working for what you want and keep moving forward. Take things one day at a time. Before you know it, things will happen for you. Every day I try to do at least one thing to help me become the person I want to be. I hold a stretch a little longer, push myself further in a dance class or make myself a really nutritious meal. For you it might be taking some more time to study, practicing your writing or going for a run. Eventually doing multiple things a day will become routine. Keep the motion and the motivation and remember what you're working for.
