Essence Lip Liners | Review & Swatches

Over the past few weeks I've seen other bloggers go crazy for Essence's lip liners. Naturally I had to check them out! I was able to purchase 5 of the 6 colours available at Priceline in Australia. Unfortunately 'In The Nude' was sold out at each store I went to, but I will definitely be purchasing it when it is back in stock. These lip liners are great!





These lip liners are creamy and apply really smoothly. The variety of colours covers most bases. I'd love to see a lighter, peachy colour too. Perhaps 'In The Nude' will fill that space in my collection. The lip liners are easy to use. The point of the pencil is thin, allowing precise application. The colours are extremely pigmented. I found that the darker colours, 'Soft Berry' in particular, really emphasised the cracks and dry skin on my lips. The liner seemed to stick more to these areas. However I didn't find it to be too bothersome and it was not noticeable at all in the lighter colours.

My favourite colour by far is 'Satin Mauve'. I think it is the perfect "your lips but better" colour for me! I think these liners would be nice with a clear gloss as the colours are really pretty own their own. But of course, you can pair them with your favourite lipsticks and lip glosses. 

Essence lip liners would be great for beginners who are thinking of trying lip liners. I would suggest that they be careful with the darker colours. As the liners are very pigmented, it can be hard to correct mistakes with dark colours. They would also be good for anyone looking to try something new or for a good quality, affordable liner.
