It's been two months since I moved to New Zealand and moved out of my family home. I absolutely love it here and have even decided to stay a little longer than planned. Today I want to share with you 10 things I've learned since moving:
- Do not go grocery shopping when you're hungry, it'll cost you
- Life is expensive and things cost money (a good iron costs how much?!)
- Being sick when you live alone sucks
- Cleaning is not that difficult
- I can actually cook a decent meal
- Laundry piles up fast, especially when you have to pay to use the washing machine
- Google Maps is my best friend, particularly when I travel on foot
- I enjoy being independent
- I am a capable adult, most of the time
- Distance doesn't seem too far when you have the internet
What did you learn when you moved out of home?

I couldn't agree more with all these points especially no. 1! I am one of those people whose eyes are 'hungrier' than tummy so my husband ALWAYS make sure I eat before we do groceries shopping or we'll come home with triple the needed amount. LOL!

Good luck and enjoy!
DeleteThe main thing I learnt when I moved out was that the fridge doesn't refill itself! The most harrowing realization ever.
ReplyDeleteI totally second not shopping when your hungry, too. I went after work to Tesco's on Monday and ended up buying pretty much everything from the Easter chocolate stand. I now have about 15 chocolate nest eggs, chicken gingerbread and mini eggs! NOT good for my thighs!
