If you're even remotely interested in make up, I'm sure you have heard of Maybelline's Lash Sensational. So many people have raved about this mascara but is it really worth the hype? I purchased Lash Sensational Waterproof in Very Black to give it a try.

Pros
This mascara is very volumising. There is a noticeable difference in my natural lashes and my lashes with the mascara, as you can see from the photo above. It's also quite lengthening, though I was expecting more length. I love how dark the colour is. The waterproof Lash Sensational is incredibly long lasting and there is no doubt that it is waterproof. It lasts all day without flaking or falling onto my cheeks. The packaging is super pretty. The price is also great if you are used to high end mascaras.
Cons
Price made it into both categories for me. It's in the higher price range of drug store mascaras, so if you're used to paying $10-$15 for mascara this might cost too much for you. I felt that it was on the pricier side for me. It also doesn't separate my lashes like I thought it would. The picture above was taken of one of my better applications. I read so many reviews saying that this mascara does not clump but it is still a bit clumpy for me. I would not recommend using this mascara if you're in a rush. It's quite wet and if you don't take your time you'll end up with it all over your eyelids, smudges and lashes that are stuck together. You need to apply it precisely and with care for the best results.
Bottom line, I was not as impressed with this mascara as I thought I would be. Perhaps I expected too much from hearing and reading other opinions. However, it is a great mascara and does make your lashes look lovely. If you're looking to try something new definitely give it a go!

I do like this mascara but it isn't my favorite either. Like you said, it's more on the expensive side for a drugstore mascara.

ReplyDeleteOh boo! I love this mascara, I actually think that it's one of the best mascaras I've tried! It might be because my lashes are already pretty long though. Too bad you didn't love it as much as I did!
