Caramel Tart

Caramel Tart Slice

Caramel Tart is one of my favourite desserts. It reminds me of when I was young and would make it with my aunt. It's very easy to make and only has three ingredients!

You will need:
250g sweet biscuits, roughly broken
(I used Arnotts Butternut Snap Cookies)
115g margarine, melted
380g can of Nestlé Caramel Top 'n' Fill
(You can also used condensed milk)

Here's what you do:

  1. Put the melted margarine and roughly broken biscuits into a food processor. Pulse to combine.
  2. Grease a springform cake tin using additional margarine and line the base of the tin using baking paper. You can also use a pie or tart dish.
  3. Spoon the mixture into the tin and spread the across to make a base. If the mixture is too wet, place the tin with the mixture in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Then continue to spread the mixture to cover the entire base of the tin.
  4. Place the tin back into the fridge for another 5-10 minutes to ensure the base is set.
  5. Put the caramel in a bowl. Using a spatula place and spread the mixture evenly across the base. If using condensed milk, follow this recipe first.
  6. Place the tin in the fridge for 4 hours or until set.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

It was really fun to make this again after so long! What dessert reminds you of your childhood?
