Caramel Tart is one of my favourite desserts. It reminds me of when I was young and would make it with my aunt. It's very easy to make and only has three ingredients!
You will need:
250g sweet biscuits, roughly broken
(I used Arnotts Butternut Snap Cookies)
115g margarine, melted
380g can of Nestlé Caramel Top 'n' Fill
(You can also used condensed milk)
- Put the melted margarine and roughly broken biscuits into a food processor. Pulse to combine.
- Grease a springform cake tin using additional margarine and line the base of the tin using baking paper. You can also use a pie or tart dish.
- Spoon the mixture into the tin and spread the across to make a base. If the mixture is too wet, place the tin with the mixture in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Then continue to spread the mixture to cover the entire base of the tin.
- Place the tin back into the fridge for another 5-10 minutes to ensure the base is set.
- Put the caramel in a bowl. Using a spatula place and spread the mixture evenly across the base. If using condensed milk, follow this recipe first.
- Place the tin in the fridge for 4 hours or until set.
- Serve and enjoy!
It was really fun to make this again after so long! What dessert reminds you of your childhood?
