Matte nails are huge in the beauty community at the moment. Eager to give it a go, I went out and purchased Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat.
This product was very easy to apply. You can see it start to take effect almost immediately. Ensure your base nail colour is completely dry and set, or you will see some colour come off on the matte coat's brush. It turns the base colour slightly lighter, so keep this in mind when using this product. I love the finish! It feels very smooth and it was an interesting change from a shiny nail finish.

On my third day of wear I noticed that my nails look slightly shiny. This might have been due to me spending some time in a pool, where the chemicals could have affected the top coat. After this my nails steadily became shinier. Because of this, the lasting power didn't impress me very much. However, my sister also used the top coat without going in the pool and hers lasted well until she removed it.

I've never heard of a matte top coat before! Seche Vite is the best top coat I've tried but I'd definitely be up for trying this one. Although, I haven't worn nail polish in months!
